Based on Manju Kapoor novel and Subhash Ghai’s Pardes.In this show, Shaleen will reprise the role of Shah Rukh while Laksh Lalwani will play Neel the spoiled NRI close on the heels of Apurva Agnihotri’s character.The series starts with showing Naina Batra, whose life revolves around her ailing mother Asha Batra. She is a strong-willed twenty-seven-year-old woman, who bares the scars of her unfulfilled love affair. She is going abroad, for reasons not yet known, leaving behind her sick mother. Baffled by certain questions thrown at her by a judgmental fellow passenger, Naina opens up about her past. She tells her how difficult it is for her to leave her sick mother behind and how after her father’s death, she became the bread winner of the house and her mother’s sole support. Naina tells her life in Mumbai and her love affair with Amit Mehrotra, which was broken due to Naina, devoting most of her time to her mother. Though, after sorting out their differences, the two decide to get engaged the next day. On the engagement day, Amit’s mother points out that Naina is still the same girl and that she will not consent for her to go abroad to Austria with him. She tells him that under no circumstances will Naina agree to leave her mother and that she will again choose her over him. Naina's mother overhears their conversation and, as a consequence, suffers a heart attack. She convinces Naina not to worry about her and to go overseas to be with Amit.Mehra's are Indian based Austria settled rich business family with Indumati Lala Mehra being the chair-person of Mehra Group of Industries. Her family includes her two sons, daughters-in-law and elder grandson Veer Mehra, who is the CEO of company and runs the empire. Raghav Mehra who is a distant relative of Mehra's has lost his parents in childhood and Indu Mehra has brought him up as her own grandson. Raghav is a carefree, optimistic and jovial person who loves Mehra's as his own family. Except for Indu no one in the family consider Raghav as a part of Mehra family and treats him like a servant. Raghav on the other hand never feels bad for their treatment instead he is happily at their service. Raghav always works for Veer who has no interest in business and parties always with his friends. Raghav always covers up for Veer which no one in family knows. Naina meets Raghav and Raghav helps her to find her brother's house. Later they constantly meet by coincidences and get introduced to each other. Parameshwari(Pam) who is Indumati's second daughter-in-law wants Veer's marriage with her niece Sanjana. But Veer is not interested and ignores her. Raghav loves Sanjana but couldn't tell her. Sanjana ignores him.The latter part of the story tells the fated love between Raghav and Naina in a foreign land, but destined to face challenges before their union.Naina's sister-in-law(Naina's brother Rajeev's wife) Chanchal meets with accident with Veer's car. Naina overhears her brother saying to Chanchal that they will get money from Mehras and she tells to police that there was no accident and takes the case back. Indumati brings marriage proposal of Veer for Naina which she reluctantly agrees.Veer is not interested in the marriage but he has agreed for the marriage for his grandmother and property.On the marriage day Veer runs away and Indumati comes to know about it and Indumati tells Raghav to sit in his place.Raghav sits in Veer's place. Marriage takes place. Naina finds out and get really upset. Her mother comes from Mumbai to Austria for the wedding. Veer comes back and tells that she didn't wanted this marriage. Indumati tells him to leave the house. Naina does not trust Raghav after he sits in Veer's place and she does not allow Raghav to explain the reason behind it.Pam tells Naina about Raghav being distant relative and servant of Mehra family. Indumati tells Naina that Raghav is a good man. Naina starts trusting Raghav again.Everybody comes to know about Sanjana's pregnancy.Sudha, Veer's mother tells her that Raghav was madly in love with Sanjana so she misunderstands that Raghav is the father of Sanjana's child. Later her misunderstanding is cleared when she comes to know that Veer is the father of Sanjana's child when Raghav tells her. Raghav convinces Indumati for letting Veer stay in the house and his marriage with Sanjana.Actually, Sanjana's pregnancy is a lie and she made fake pregnancy reports for the marriage.Veer plans to defame Naina but Raghav gets his plan failed. Indumati comes to know that Sanjana is not pregnant and Mehra family has also lying to her. Mehra family shows their hatred for her.She gets cardiac arrest and goes to coma.
